Dial-a-Ride

 

OCTANE (Peterborough Dial-a-Ride) provides a range of fully accessible transport facilities for those with limited mobility and who have difficulty using public transport or people that do not have access to public transport or a private car.

 

OCTANE (Peterborough Dial-a-Ride), are a non-profit making self-financing organisation with a charitable status that is run by and for the community.

 

 

 

The rural dial-a-ride services are operated by Octane (Peterborough Dial-a-Ride) on behalf of Peterborough City Council. 

 

To use the rural dial-a-ride services you have to be a member. Membership currently costs £5.00 per person or £7.50 per couple.

 

If you want to use the rural dial-a-ride you need to book at least two days prior to travel.  The booking office will be open Mondays to Fridays from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm except Bank Holidays.  An answerphone facility is available outside of normal working hours.

 

 

Area D: serving Glinton, Maxey, Northborough, Newborough and Peakirk.   Return journeys to Peterborough city centre are on Tuesdays and Thursdays.   Tuesday                        Pick up starts 10.30       Return 14.15 Thursday                       Pick up starts  9.30        Return 12.30

Area E: serving Eye, Eye Green and Thorney.   Return journeys to Peterborough city centre are on Tuesdays and Fridays.   Tuesday                        Pick up starts 9.00         Return 12.00 Friday                           Pick up starts 9.00         Return 12.00

Area F: serving Ailsworth, Castor, Wansford and Marholm.   Return journeys to Peterborough city centre are on Mondays and Fridays.   Monday                         Pick up starts 10.00       Return 12.30 Friday                           Pick up starts 10.15         Return 13.45

 

 

Each journey enables you to have two and a half hours in the city centre and will leave between 09.15 and 11.30, returning between 12.30 and 14.45.

The driver will come and pick you up from your house wherever possible. The driver can assist you on and off the vehicle, and will even help you with your bags. The cost of using the service is similar to that of a standard bus fare. A member holding a current valid Council bus pass is entitled to free travel on these services.
