You can discuss with your Personal Adviser
- Your ideas, hopes and dreams for the future.
- Your concerns about what to do next.
- Your options after leaving school.
- The decisions you might need to make.
- How to overcome any problems you have.
- Any help or information you need.
Before You Leave School
Your Personal Adviser will draw up an Action Plan to describe
what you hope to achieve and how to get there. A S139A
Assessment is then completed by your Personal Adviser to identify
the help you need after you leave school. It will be used by
colleges and training providers to make sure you get the extra
support you need.
How do I see a Personal Adviser?
Ask your tutor how to make an appointment. You may have seen an
Adviser in school already so you will know who they are. Your
parents or guardians can be with you if you wish.
Can I still see a Personal Adviser when I have left
school? Yes. You can make an appointment at the Connexions
Youth Access Point at the Central Library in Peterborough.
Can I just come to the Connexions Centre? Yes. Ask the
receptionist for help. They will ask you for your name, date of
birth and the school you went to. You may want to speak to
someone, just look at the books or use the computer. You can
find out about job vacancies and training opportunities. There is
also help with filling in application forms and what to say at an
interview.
