Peterborough Regional College
Peterborough Regional College delivers Foundation Learning in
every department apart from Engineering and Performing Arts. It
also provides distinct programmes which incorporate Foundation
Learning which are outlined below:
Accelerate and Accumulate
This programme is primarily at Level 1 (Edexcel Level 1
Vocational Award/Certificate/Diploma) with some Entry Level work
skills and Functional Skills depending on learners’ ability. It
incorporates lots of practical activity and will suit young people
who would like a mix of experiences of vocational provision. It
will promote confidence and improve Functional Skills.
Students who would like to apply should have the potential to be
able to achieve a Level 1 qualification. There are start dates in
September. Potential progression is onto Level 2 programmes,
apprenticeships or work.
Engage and Progress
Engage and Progress is a flexible engagement programme that
enables learners to progress within year to programmes that allow
the achievement of Foundation Learning awards/certificates/diplomas
within the range Entry 2, Entry 3 and Level 1.
This is a College based course with a core Personal and Social
Development/Tutorial programme which contains a wide range of
vocational tasters and accredited units. This is a flexible
programme designed to be attractive to and engage young people and
is suitable for anyone who is currently not in employment,
education or training. There are also opportunities for the
programme to be adapted to include a group of learners for whom
English is not their main language.
There are opportunities to start in October, November, January,
March and June.
