BTEC Diplomas
These are termed vocational qualifications because they are
directly related to jobs and careers and are more specialised
than GCSEs or A Levels. BTECs focus on an area of work.
This can be quite broad with subjects such as art &
design, media and business or a narrower area such
as animal care or horticulture.
You can pass BTECs at three grades of achievement:
- Pass
- Merit
- Distinction

Qualifications at different levels can have different entry
requirements.
For example, if you want to study for a level 2 qualification,
you will generally need two to four GCSEs grades D-G, or a level 1
qualification in a similar subject.
To study a level 3 qualification, you will normally need four or
five GCSEs grades A*-C, or a level 2 qualification in a related
subject.
