Apprenticeships provide the opportunity to gain job-related skills and qualifications through on-the-job training. 

An Apprenticeship enables people to earn while they learn the skills necessary to succeed in their chosen career.  Apprenticeships are available for people aged 16 and over, and funding is available to young people aged 16-19.

Last year, 365 Apprenticeship vacancies were advertised on the Apprenticeship Vacancy online service.  Apprenticeships in Peterborough are on offer in these areas:

What levels can I do in Peterborough?

There are currently 53 different Level 2 Apprenticeship frameworks available and 42 different Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeships available.

What are the entry requirements?

These do vary by each Provider and course, but it’s common to need five GCSEs grades A*-C including English and Maths.  These will be made clear in the vacancy details. You can contact the individual Training Provider to find out more.

Where will my Apprenticeship be?

Different providers offer a different experience.  You will usually spend most of your time at your workplace, but some time may be spent at a college or your training provider’s premises, sometimes based outside of Peterborough.
