Health in Pregnancy Grant
Non-means tested grant of £190 paid to a woman
who is at least 25 weeks pregnant. This dooes not affect
entitlement to other benefits.
Sure Start Maternity
Grant
This is a £500 grant for those who have
recently given birth or adopted. Your must be receiving
certain benefits.
Child Benefit
This is paid to a person responsible for a
child in full-time education or approved training until they reach
20 and stops once they start work.
Guardian’s Allowance
If a child is being looked after because both
parents are dead, in custody or in hospital.
Child Trust Fund
Vouchers are given for £250 or £500 to set up
a trust fund for your child if they were born after Sept
2002. The government has stopped issuing vouchers for
children born after 2 January 2011.
Healthy Start Scheme
For those who are pregnant or have a child
under 4, and are in receipt of certain benefits, you can get
vouchers for milk, fruit, vegetables and vitamins.
Child Tax Credit
This can be claimed by anyone with a dependant
child. The amount you get depends on your income.
