A community cohesion project aiming for greater respect and understanding between young people from different cultures and backgrounds

Unity Peacemakers activitiy

Unity peacemakers is a joint project with Peterborough Racial Equality Council. The project will create greater youth community cohesion by recruiting and training young people in conflict resolution skills. Planned outcomes are:

Increased mutual respect & understanding

A decrease in racial incidents

Accreditation gained by young people

Positive press coverage and input on cohesion policy development

The project will recruit 16 young people who attend a training residential and then will meet fortnightly to review youth tensions and what action can be taken. Project partners are Cambridgeshire Police, Youth Offending Service. Accessible to all young people aged 16 - 19.
