Youth club for the disabled in Peterborough

Disabled teenagers in Peterborough have been looking for somewhere to go where they could meet people, learn new things, and enjoy music, films and karaoke.

Following the success of its youth clubs in Cambridgeshire and Essex, leading disability charity Papworth Trust are now launching a Fun United youth club in Peterborough.

The sessions are held on a Wednesday at The Cresset, Bretton, Peterborough, PE3 8DX.

“Giving people time to develop their own confidence and skills is a very valuable asset as a young person moves towards adulthood. Parents and carers in Peterborough have told us that they wanted a safe environment for young people with special needs to make new friends, gain confidence and try out new skills”, says Linda Roberts of Papworth Trust.

All youth clubs run between 7pm and 9pm. To book a place on the taster session, or to find out more please contact Steve Mayes on 07753 719307 or email info@papworth.org.uk.

Media contact: Julia Rutherford, email julia.rutherford@papworth.org.uk  or telephone 01480 357269.
