Current Adopted Development Plan
The planning system in England and Wales follows a
plan-led system. This involves preparing plans that set out what
can be built and where.
Most planning decisions, including planning
applications, are determined in accordance with the contents of the
adopted Development Plan, which is the starting point before
other considerations are taken into account.
The Development Plan is not a single document.
It consists of several documents, each of which may be amended or
replaced over time.
Under the provisions of the Planning and
Compulsory Purchase Act 2004, we are part of the way through the
process of updating our current adopted Development Plans with
a suite of new documents known as the Local
Development Framework (LDF).

Sets out the vision and broad locations for future minerals and waste management development to 2026 and beyond.
The Regional Spatial Strategy, otherwise known as the East of England Plan, remains part of the adopted Development Plan, until the Government formally revokes it
