Local Development Framework
We are updating our Development Plans for the area
to replace our current Adopted Local Plan (2005). However, rather
than a single ‘Local Plan’, we must produce a suite
of documents, collectively known as the Local Development Framework
(LDF), in accordance with the Planning and Compulsory
Purchase Act 2004. So far, we have adopted two Development
Plan Document as part of our LDF - the Peterborough Core Strategy
DPD and the Peterborough Site Allocations DPD. The title, and
further details, of each of the new documents are set out below.
Other development plans which cover a wider area than Peterborough
(such as Minerals and Waste and Regional Plans) can be found
under Draft Development Plans and Adopted
Development Plan.
Sets out the vision, overall strategy, broad policies and proposals for the development of Peterborough to 2026 and beyond
Identifies and allocates land for different forms of development, including house building, places of employment and retail
Sets out detailed policies that will be used in helping to reach a decision on planning applications that are submitted to the Council
The Plan for Peterborough’s City Centre, identifying sites for development and policies to promote, protect and enhance the area
