Draft supplementary planning documents

To support adopted Development Plan documents, councils can prepare ‘Supplementary Planning Documents’ which set out greater detail or guidance. These can either be ‘site-specific’ (i.e. detailed council guidance on what should be developed on a particular site) or ‘policy-specific’ (i.e. detailed council guidance on a particularly important policy issue).

Flood and Water Management - Draft Supplementary Planning Document (SPD)

Key stakeholders and interested bodies, including members of the public, are invited to make comments on this draft SPD for a period of six weeks starting on 10 February 2012. All comments must reach us by 5pm on 22 March 2012.

The draft SPD sets locally specific guidance to developers and decision makers on how to manage flood risk and water quality in new developments. It covers topics such as selecting sites for new development and the types of sustainable drainage systems that will be required accross different areas of Peterborough.

Comments can be made using the representation form, which can be downloaded below, along with the draft SPD, consultation statement and 'matters statement'.

Paper copies of all of these documents can be viewed at the Customer Service Centre at Bayard Place and at all of Peterborough's libraries, as described in the matters statement.

Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Waste Parternship (RECAP): Waste Management Design Guide Draft Supplementary Planning Document

Representations on this document were invited from key stakeholders and interested bodies, including members of the public between 5 September 2011 and 17 October 2011. The Councils aim to adopt the document in the first quarter of 2012.

You can view the comments made on the city council's consultation portal.

The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Minerals and Waste Core Strategy Development Plan Document polices CS16 (Household Recycling Centres) and CS28 (Waste Minimisation, Re-Use and Resource Recovery) set out a requirement for developments to make provision for waste storage, collection and recycling in accordance with the content of the RECAP Waste Management Design Guide.

The draft SPD is a waste management design guide produced by the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Waste Group (RECAP), in conjunction with Peterborough City Council and Cambridgeshire County Council. It covers practical waste management design issues relating to waste storage, collection and recycling within new residential and commercial developments.

It also sets out how developers will contribute to the provision of waste infrastructure including the provision of waste storage containers, Household Recycling Centres and Bring Sites. In Peterborough, this will be in accordance with the Planning Obligations Implementation Scheme SPD or through the Community Infrastructure Levy in the event that this mechanism supersedes this provision.

The Consultation Statement below provides further detail on the previous stages of consultation.

A copy of the guide and related publications that were available for comment are available below.
