Investment in the City Centre

Our ambition is for a vibrant city centre that is alive from dawn till dusk, has active nightlife and an array of widely used leisure facilities. It is an ambition that will need greater numbers of people living in the city centre, one that offers the potential to make the most of what the area has to offer, and one that we are focused on bringing into reality.

Today's city tomorrow's growth

Peterborough is a city of change and is one of the most promising and exciting areas of opportunity in the UK. It is a city rich in heritage, but also a city that has a history of successful growth from its new town status in the 1970s through to our current ambitions for growth. Cathedral Square Fountains

The history of making Peterborough’s growth a reality has required flexibility, adaptability and innovation; qualities that remain of paramount importance today. Peterborough is a city with enormous potential, with a growing economy, a growing population, and a growing position as a city at the heart of the Eastern Region.

We have one of the most forward thinking agendas for economic development in the country and we are confident that, together with our partners, we will build a bigger and better Peterborough for future generations.
