Householders recycling centre

Welland Road, Dogsthorpe, PE1 3TD

This site operates free of charge for members of the public to dispose of their household waste, so that as much as possible can be recycled. 
It is run by a private company on behalf of the council. Business waste is not accepted at this site. If you want to dispose of business waste please visit our business waste page.

Opening Times

Summer months

1st April to 30th September

Open 7 days a week from 8am to 6pm

Late night opening until 8pm Mondays and Thursdays

Winter months

1st October to 31st March

Open 7 days a week from 8am to 4pm

 

Special dates

 

Bank holidays; site closes at 4pm

Site closes at 12pm; Christmas Eve and 12 pm New Years Eve

Site closed; Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day

Busy periods

 

The site tends to be busier at weekends, especially over the summer months. To avoid long queues it is advised to visit the site during the week or make use of the longer opening hours during the summer months.

Please arrive 15 minutes before the stated closing time to allow sufficient time to dispose of your waste   

Adverse weather conditions

Please be aware that sometimes the recycling centre may have to close at short notice due to bad weather conditions which can cause slippery surfaces and affect operations preventing safe access.

If in doubt, please phone Peterborough Direct on 01733 747474 for up to date information on the recycling centre, or save your visit for another day.

If you are using a van or trailer to dispose of your waste you will need to apply for a permit.  These are free of charge and can be applied for online or over the phone.

If you are looking to dispose of furniture in a reasonable condition or working electrical white goods please consider passing these items on to a local charity:

Working white goods can be taken to our WEEE Reuse facility where they will be redistributed to charities and low income families.
