Recycling and environmental education

We feel that it is important to educate the younger generations with recycling and environmental issues, as they are the future. Our community engagement team offer a wide range of activities for young people across the city to get involved with.

School talks

Our waste education team deliver school talks on recycling, littering and composting. We deliver interactive talks to classes and whole school assemblies. We tailor our environmental talks and activities so that they meet the national curriculum criteria for all schools. For more information or to book a talk please contact the senior community engagement officer.

Community groups

We also deliver talks and presentations to community groups within the city. Community groups include: The Women's Institute, Friendship Groups, Guide and Scout Groups and Pension Clubs.

Materials Recycling Facility tours

If you would like to see what happens to the contents of your green bin why not arrange a visit to Peterborough's Materials Recycling Facility (MRF)? Tours can be arranged for groups of 8-10 adults. Under 18's are not allowed to enter the operational area, but school groups can be accommodated in our education room. Email recycling@enterprisepeterborough.co.uk or ring 01733 747474 for more information or to arrange a visit.

Festivals and roadshows

During the year the waste education team attend festivals and roadshows across the city. They provide an opportunity for you to discover more about recycling, climate change and sustainable travel. Look out for our environment trailer at an event near you.School littering assembley
