Valentine's Rose Is Thorn In The Side For Criminals

6 February 2012

Crimestoppers is encouraging residents to help be a thorn in the side of criminals by giving their loved ones a unique rose on Valentine’s Day.

People who buy a Crimestoppers Rose for their Valentine will be helping to raise valuable funds for the charity to help ensure crime-fighting initiatives continue to be a success locally.

Since its formation 24 years ago, Crimestoppers has received more than 1.2 million calls and 23 people are arrested every day as a result of information given.

Ann Scott, Eastern Regional Manager for Crimestoppers, said: “The red rose is the perfect way to show your love on Valentine’s Day and at the same time help make a difference in your own community by fighting crime.

“At least £2 from every purchase will go to Crimestoppers to enable us to continue promoting the charity’s service and payment of rewards for information in the local area.”

All calls to 0800 555 111 or information given via www.crimestoppers-uk.org  are anonymous. Callers are never asked for their name and no personal information is taken. Calls are not traced or recorded and IP addresses cannot be traced either. People who give information do not have to give a statement to the police or go to court.
