Motorcycling
Every year thousands of people are
injured on roads in the UK. While motorcyclists represent less than
1% of road traffic, they account for almost 20% of deaths and
serious injuries on the roads. Motorcyclists are also 40 times more
likely to be killed than a car driver.
Motorcyclists are encouraged to attend BikeSafe courses which run in
Peterborough during the summer months.
The courses are delivered by advanced police
motorcyclists and explain the attributes of a good rider and how to
control a motorcycle including cornering, positioning, overtaking
and group riding.
At the end of the course there is an
opportunity to undertake an assessed ride, under the guidance of a
police motorcyclist to put into practice new found skills.
Three courses are held between May and
September.
