Theft from a Motor Vehicle
The SaferPeterborough partnership has worked closely with car
parks, businesses and within residential locations to raise
awareness of this crime type.
The crucial message has been to not leave valuable items on
display. The result has been a massive reduction of theft from a
motor vehicle in recent years.
The partnership has funded the purchase of ‘trap cars’ (cars
fitted with surveillance equipment), which the police have
successfully deployed to catch prolific offenders.
