There is a need in Peterborough to ensure
clear pathways are in place for people to access sexual violence
support. The Oasis Centre @
Rivergate (Sexual Assault Referral Centre) goes a long way to
address this but there is also a need to work with the most at risk
people to prevent further sexual violence.
Sex workers, women (and men) in prison,
children and young people in care can be particularly at risk and
we are working very closely with HMP
Peterborough, child protection agencies to develop strategies
that will be commissioned to improve the quality and access to
services to support them.
UPDATE: 14 November 2013 The
Police are noticing a sharp rise in the number of catalytic
converter thefts across the City and Eastern Sector (PE1 postcodes)
Here are the details of the number of thefts and locations since 1
November 2013 in our area: Peveril Road (Millfield), Delamere Close
(Eastfield), Osric Court (Eastfield), Danes Close (Eastfield),
Martinsbridge (Parnwell), Eastern Avenue (Dogsthorpe).
Those with street parking, rather than private driveways appear to
be most vulnerable, but please do stay alert for suspicious
activity in your area.
