Nature Conservation

Service Overview 

To protect, enhance and manage the natural environment and wildlife.
To secure the implementation of projects to safeguard and enhance biodiversity, including those projects identified through the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Biodiversity Action Plan and Peterborough Natural Environment Audit.  To contribute to special projects relating to environmental improvements/sustainability undertaken with other sections both Service-wide and Corporately.

Peterborough City Council and Cambridgeshire County Council have produced a Biodiversity Checklist giving guidelines for planners, developers and householders on how to provide for the needs of wildlife and their habitats.
