RECYCLING BINS FOR PETERBOROUGH RESIDENTS
The City Council provides a 240 litre green wheelie bin for recycling and a 240 litre brown wheelie bin for organic waste to every household in Peterborough.
The green bins are for the disposal of materials such as cardboard and paper, plastic bottles, tins, cans, and aerosols. The brown bins are only for grass cuttings, leaves, shrubs, weeds, bedding plants, hedge trimmings, dead flowers and prunings.
These bins are both collected on a fortnightly basis.
It is hoped that by providing residents with more space and time to collect materials for recycling, the city will continue to increase the amount it recycles, and subsequently will reduce the amount of waste that it sends to landfill each year.
Information on the bring bank sites located throughout Peterborough is available on the bring bank site page.
Further information is available on the rubbish, waste and recycling page. |
