Highway maintenance
The Council is the Highways Authority for the Peterborough
area and has a legal obligation under the Highways Act 1980 to
maintain the public highway network in a safe and passable
condition. It meets this requirement by undertaking regular
inspections of roads (carriageways) and pavements (footways).
