Secondary schools

Over the past 3 years more than 50% of all child casualties have been aged from 11 to 15 years.  This is similar to the national picture where although the total number of child casualties is decreasing,  the figure for 11 – 15 years olds still remains high.  It is hoped that by delivering various programmes we can reduce the number of teenagers injured on our roads.

The road safety team offers various road safety activities for secondary schools to participate in free of charge during the academic year.  These include a new interactive workshop aimed at Year 7  pupils and a young driver education day for post 16 students. To find out more about free road safety education initiatives for secondary schools contact the team on roadsafety@peterborough.gov.uk.
