Bike week 2009

From 13 - 21 June Travelchoice helped the
residents of Peterborough celebrate National Bike Week with a
selection of competitions and events.
The week began with two successful guided rides to the Cygnet
Park and Thorpewood Business Parks highlighting the variety of
routes available to people wanting to commute to work by
bicycle. Events also included come and try sessions at the
Peterborough Phantoms BMX Club and road-racing with the
Peterborough Cycling Club at the Showground.
However, the favourite event of the week was undoubtedly the
free cyclist’s breakfast held at the Cornish Pasty Company in the
city-centre, where cyclists could enjoy a bite to eat, talk about
their favourite routes and generally have a good time with fellow
cyclists.
The week culminated with the Travelchoice Treasure Hunt held at
Ferry Meadows Country Park – where families cycled around the Park
answering questions and finding clues. Congratulations to the
Lilley and Honeyford families who were the eventual winners.
Please look out for more cycling events throughout the year and Bike Week
2010.
