Travel plans
A travel plan is a package of measures produced by employers,
schools or other organisations to promote alternatives to
driving alone. Typical measures include installing cycle
shelters, setting up a car share scheme or providing discounted bus
tickets.
Business travel plans can focus on staff travel as well as
visitor and customer travel and often form part of an
organisation'swider environment policy.
A 'school travel plan' identifies ways of making the journey to
school safer and more pleasant by discouraging car use and
promoting walking, cycling and bus use.
A residential travel plan is a package of measures designed to
reduce the number of car trips from residential developments
through supporting sustainable modes of transport.
