Try it for FREE
Our research showed that people have fairly low expectations of
walking, cycling and public transport but when they try it, they
enjoy it! So, with this in mind, we’ve secured a number of
incentives to encourage a few people to swap their cars for
different ways of travelling.
• FREE travel on Stagecoach bus with the voucher from Your
Peterborough (22 Sept – Car Free Day only)
• FREE swim when you cycle or catch the bus to the Regional Pool
(16-22 Sept)*
• FREE bowling at AMF, Bretton when you arrive by bus
(16-22 Sept)*
• FREE adult cycle training – 90 min lessons available
anytime
• FREE breakfast for cyclists’ and bus users - Cornish Pasty
Shop (16 Sept, 7.45-9.00am)*
• FREE entry to Flag Fen when you walk or cycle there (17-18
Sept)
• FREE bike checks by experienced Bristows staff (8-10am Bridge

TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITIONThe photographic competition
is open to all. The photographs must include sustainable transport
somehow, but we leave this to you to interpret. For example, you
might see a fantastic landscape shot whilst on a cycle ride, you
may capture the joy in learning to ride a bike, a first bus or rail
journey – let your imagination run wild!
There are two categories – under 16’s and 16 and over. Simply
email your photos to Travelchoice@peterborough.gov.uk
by 12pm Monday 13 September to be in with a chance. All photos will
be judged by a panel and the winning shots will be displayed in
Queensgate Shopping Centre from 17 to 20 September and hosted on
the Travelchoice website.
Prizes are in Queensgate Gift Cards, with the following
denominations:
16s and over:
1st - £100
2nd - £75
3rd - £50
Under 16s:
1st - £50
2nd - £30
3rd - £20
* A valid bus ticket is required (a Dayrider for the day
you wish to use the incentive or a valid Megarider)
**N.B. There are limited numbers for each of the 'Try it for
FREE' activities. Please contact the relevant organisation to check
on available spaces etc **
