Non Emergency Patient Transport Services
(NEPTS) are available for those with a clear medical need that
prevents the use of public or community based transport.
Only your hospital doctor or GP is authorized
to assess patient eligibility.
NEPTS covers journey to and from hospital
only, not travel to your GP, dentist or optician.
The Hospital Travel Costs Scheme provides
financial help to those patients who do not have a medical need for
ambulance transport and who cannot meet the cost of alternative
travel to hospital. For example, those on income support, working
tax credit or child tax credit.
