Electric vehicles - what's the deal?
The East of England’s bid for the Plugged
in Places Fund (A fund to install electric car charging points)
was successful and this along with funding from Peterborough City
Council is allowing the installation recharging points i
n Peterborough over coming
years. The posts are being delivered though EValu8 and their
website has some information about electric
vehicles.
Currently charging posts are being installed
for use at on street parking and in council owned car parks. There
are opportunities for funding for charging points on private land,
for non-profit organisations should you be interested do not
hesitate to contact us. EValu8 can also help other
organisations with installation of charging post and can be
contacted via their website.
The council is supportive of electric vehicles
as a low emission form of transport. Currently three recharging
posts are being installed in the city centre:
- Car Haven car park
- Park Road
- City Road outside the Eco Innovation Centre
These recharging points should be available to
use in March. To access these posts you have to be a member of
