Future plans

Moving forwards, the scope of Travelchoice has expanded since March 2009 to include the whole of the unitary boundary as the city strives to become the UK’s Environment Capital.

Projects planned from July 2010 include:

19 July 2010 - Don’t be a loser – lock it or lose it.

During a three week period in July Travelchoice and Cambridgeshire Constabulary will be distributing over 1000 handlebar guides to cyclists across the city. These guides; based on hotel do not disturb signs will inform cyclists about security issues, including how to lock your bike, where to lock it up and much more. To ensure the guides do not become just a piece of litter each guide will have a unique code on it; which will be a competition entry to win a brand new £400 Trek bicycle, courtesy of Bristows Cycles.

26 July 2010 - Miles Better Business Challenge  

The challenge is simple! Log how you get to work and how many miles you travel each day for a 3 week period, starting on July 26 until August 13 2010. Businesses of similar sizes compete against each other in the virtual challenge to see who has the greenest and healthiest workforce!  Simply register using the link on the left and off you go. We’ll provide a running commentary on the homepage to keep you updated with progress. Encourage colleagues to take part too, for your a chance to win many fantastic prizes! September 2010 - Bikeability cycle training

This will be rolled out to Peterborough schools from the Autumn term.  

16-22 September 2010 - Travelchoice Week

Try It For Free Campaign underway! Travelchoice will be providing residents, businesses and schools a whole host of offers and incentives to encourage people to try walking, cycling, public transport and car sharing. Further information about offers will be published shortly.
