Railcards
You can purchase discounted Senior Railcards
and Disabled Persons Railcard vouchers which allow 1/3 off many
rail journeys. This discount is available to both Peterborough and
non-Peterborough residents.
Where can I purchase or renew my
Railcard/Railcard voucher?
You can purchase or renew your Railcard/Railcard voucher at the
Travelchoice Centre located in the Queensgate bus
station. You will need to fill in an application form,
show proof of age/disability and pay the fee (cheques must be
made payable to Peterborough City Council) in order to obtain a
Railcard/Railcard voucher. Leaflets are also available from these
sites which have further details.
Senior Railcard
The discounted Senior Railcard is
available to everyone aged 60 and over. The cost of this Railcard
is £26.00 as opposed to £28.00 if purchased directly from the
railway station and it entitles the cardholder to a 1/3 off many
rail tickets. An applicant must provide proof of age and the Senior
Railcard is valid for 1 year.
Disabled Persons Railcard
The discounted Disabled Persons
Railcard is available to everyone who is
eligible on disability grounds and costs £18.00 as opposed to
£20.00 if purchased directly from ATOC (Association of Train
Operating Companies) and it entitles the cardholder to 1/3 off many
rail tickets. If another adult is travelling with you, they can
also travel at the same discounted fare.
Peterborough City Council will issue you with a Disabled Persons
Railcard voucher which you will need to post to ATOC, along with
your proof of disability, and they will post your Railcard to you.
