Travel Zone Maps
With 1 in 5 cars on the road at 8:50am on the 'school run', the
need to reduce car dependence is bigger than ever. Travelchoice
worked with 24 primary schools to produce a 'Travel
Zone Map', showing the school in the centre and a mixture of
walking and cycling zones around it.
The 'Travel Zone' is a series of boundary lines, set up at 5, 10
and 15 minute walking intervals from the school gates. Those who
live within these boundary lines are encouraged to park at one of
the boundary lines and walk the last 5-15 minutes of the journey.
It is important that parents find somewhere safe and socially
acceptable to park.
Below is a list of the primary schools that have recieved maps
so far. If you are interested in having a map produced for your
