Walk to Work Week 9 - 13 May 2011

National Walk to Work Week is the ideal time to give walking a go. An easy form of exercise requiring no special equipment, walking can be fitted in on your way to or from work, at lunchtime or throughout the day. It's a great way to ensure that being desk-bound at work doesn't stop you being active.

Walking all or part of your commute is an excellent way to get some activity into your day, doing wonders for both your mental and physical health. Peterborough City Council's Travelchoice team have organised a competition to tie in with the national event and to offer local employers another way of promoting a healthier lifestyle to staff.

The competition is simple, download a scorecard below and log the miles you walk to and from work for the week of the 9-13 May. At the end of the week, hand your scorecard into your travel plan co-ordinator and they will collate all the results for your organisation.

The prizes this year include:

  • Verio Wind up MP3 player
  • PowerPlus Rhino Wind-up radio
