Bus Walks
Beyond the margins of the city, the villages
and rural landscapes surrounding Peterborough are waiting to be
explored. Bus walks are becoming increasingly popular, they simply
involve travelling to a rural area by bus then exploring the
countryside by foot.
Starting the walk by bus is more sustainable
and much more sociable than driving. It’s a good way to get to know
other walkers and means you can also enjoy a drink in a nearby
pub! The walks are a time for looking at the surrounding landscapes
and soaking in the atmosphere.
The walks are held at weekends and departing
from the Queensgate bus station.
Walkers pass through pretty villages around
Peterborough and surrounding areas. The walks are typically about
8km in length and suitable for most abilities. The walk pace is
varied, with regular stops for relaxing and recharging the
batteries.
