2017 Council Tax Competition Terms and Conditions

  1. Open to all those who currently pay Peterborough City Council their council tax via Direct Debit and have done so for three months or more on 1 September 2017.
  2. To enter, a customer will need to sign-up to Peterborough City Council’s Direct Debit scheme for the payment of their council tax.  To ensure that a customer is eligible to enter the prize draw, they must sign-up to the scheme and pay their June 2017 installment and two subsequent installments (July and August 2017), and still be signed up to the Direct Debit scheme on 1 September 2017.
  3. Peterborough City Council have to give 14 days notice under the Direct Debit Guarantee Scheme to set up a payer.  Therefore, customers should set up a direct debit at least 14 days before the date of their first installment.
  4. There will be five individual prizes of £250, to be paid in One4all vouchers.  For more information on these vouchers, please visit: www.one4allgiftcard.co.uk/gift-cards-online.
  5. In the event of unforeseen circumstances the council reserves the right to substitute the prize for an alternative of equal or greater value.  The prize is not transferrable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
  6. The five winners will be selected in a random draw, conducted under independent supervision, within one working day of the relevant closing date (1 September 2017).  The winners will be notified by phone within five working days of the closing date.
  7. The prizes will be delivered by recorded mail within five working days - no further correspondence will be entered into.
  8. The winner may be requested to participate in publicity arising from the promotion, but are not obliged to participate in the publicity.
  9. The council cannot accept any responsibility for any damage, loss, injury suffered by any customer entering the competition or as a result of accepting any prize. Nothing shall exclude the council’s liability for death or personal injury as a result of its negligence.
  10. If for any reason the prize draw is not capable of running as planned, (for reasons including, but not limited to, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the council which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this promotion), the council reserves the right (subject to any written directions given under applicable law) to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process.
  11. If an act, omission, event or circumstance occurs, which is beyond the reasonable control of the council and which prevents the council from complying with these terms and conditions, the council will not be liable for any failure to perform or delay in performing its obligation.
  12. The council is not liable for third party products or services and the prize is subject to the prize manufacturers’ terms and conditions.
  13. By taking part in this prize draw all customers will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by these terms and conditions.
