When will results be available: 25 Sep 2017

The council is consulting on use of an online hackney carriage (taxi) and private hire licensing application system as the only way to apply and purchase the services.

It is intended to replace the current paper based taxi licensing system with an online licensing system. The online system will be accessed through the council’s website and allow customers to apply and pay for their taxi licenses, badges and vehicle plates. This effects driver, operator and vehicle applications.

The licencing system would enable customers to go online via various devices (e.g. Smartphones (Apple and android), PCs, tablets, laptops, etc) or at one of the developing community hubs across the city (e.g. Herlington Centre, Cross Keys in Westwood and Gladstone Park) or libraries to apply and pay for their licenses, badges and plates.

The consultation will run from Tuesday 11 July 2017 to Wednesday 20 September 2017. Should you wish to respond and make comment, please complete the online Hackney Carriage (Taxi) and Private Hire Licensing Application System consultation survey and ensure that you do so prior to the end of the consultation period, to ensure your comments can be properly considered. If you don't have access to the online form at home, please visit a library to access the internet or go to Bayard Place where there are computers and officers who can help you complete the survey.
