Workforce Development Fund

The Workforce Development Fund (WDF) is funding from the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) disseminated by Skills for Care.

It supports the provision of high-quality care and the continuing professional development (CPD) of staff across the adult social care sector by providing a contribution towards the costs of vocational learning.

The fund allows you to claim back money towards the costs of employees completing a broad range of adult social care qualifications, learning programmes and digital learning modules.

You can currently claim up to £2000 per employee during a funding year. There is no set limit per organisation, however the funding is monitored to ensure fairness for all partner organisations/ employers regardless of size.

A detailed list of applicable funding can be found at skillsforcare.org.uk. This is also where you can discover how the Workforce Development Fund is accessed, and the steps employers need to take (including joining The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough WDF Partnership, managed by the Cambridgeshire County Council Learning and Development Team).

Please note the funding is independent to and not related to any development activities provided by the County Council.
