- Promoting and participating in developing the body of social work knowledge and research.
We know that working as a children's social worker can be as challenging as it is rewarding and the report summarises how social workers feel about working for the service and identifies what's needed to support improvements in practice. It also references the positive changes that Family Safeguarding have brought to caseloads and practice.
Thank you all for your participation in the surveys and focus groups that fed into this report, your feedback was very useful in helping understand what it's like to be a social worker in Peterborough and identifying recommendations from the review.
As an employer of social workers, we endeavour to ensure a supportive working environment for our staff. Part of this process involves meeting the Standards for Employers of Social Workers set by the Department of Health. In order to assess our strengths and where we can improve in meeting the standards, an Adult Social Care health check has been conducted. The report of our findings can be found to the right.
