Care Quality Commission

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) are a regulatory service to ensure health and social care services provide safe, high-quality care. They monitor and inspect health and social care services to make sure they meet standards of quality and safety, resulting in published performance ratings to enable service users to choose care.

All health and social care providers that are regulated by the CQC are required to display their most recent CQC rating. You can find Peterborough City Council's rating displayed on the getting support webpage.

Personal care and support procurement

The Council’s current framework agreement for the provision of personal care and support in the community (Homecare) is due to end in January 2017.

We will be undertaking a tendering exercise to commission personal care and support service, to be able to meet expected future demand in the short and medium term. The tendering exercise aims to deliver the best possible homecare service to the people of Peterborough, within the available resources.

The procurement will be conducted through our e-tendering portal SupplierforceIf you are already registered you will not need to register again, simply use your existing username and password. Once you are logged in, you will be able to view any tender documents when available, and they will need to be submitted via the same site.

You may also view the Prior Information Notice online.

The indicative tender timescales are:

  • March 2016 - advertise the tender
  • June 2016 - complete evaluation

Questions and answers

A question was raised by a provider and the below response was given:

  • Question: Can you please tell me if it will be permissible for the same organisation to join in a consortium bid and also put in a bid as a single or lead provider (with sub-contract arrangements) for the same zone?
Response: The Council currently does not intend to impose a blanket ban on such bids, but reserves its right to require tenderers to submit such information/certificates as the Council feels it necessary to demonstrate that legislation regarding competition and anti-collusion is complied with, and that competition is not being distorted. Additionally, the Council reserves its rights to exclude any operators in accordance with the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. Full details regarding bidding restrictions (if any) will be contained within the tender documents.
