Coronavirus (COVID-19) Vaccine confidence training

Covid-19 vaccine confidence training available - Take part to make every contact count.

Whilst the roll-out of the Covid-19 vaccination programme has been remarkably successful with high vaccine uptake across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, vaccine uptake is lower amongst some ethnic and cultural groups and in some localities across the County.

Many people who work for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Council, District Councils and Community and Emergency Service partners are not trained Covid-19 vaccinators, however their day to day work brings them into contact with many people across the county. These people may be hesitant to have the vaccine, have questions to ask, or may have missed their invitation and not sure how to proceed. it is also important to make sure everyone working for a local authority or the emergency services has a consistent core knowledge base and feels confident that they have the answers should they be approached with questions and that the correct messaging is being given out. This approach will maximise chances for opportunistic conversations and engagement outside of formal forums – making every contact count.

Self-service resource toolkit

The COVID-19 vaccine toolkit provides resources to equip people with the knowledge needed to have positive and engaging COVID-19 vaccine conversations, using the Making Every Contact Count (MECC) approach, enabling people to feel confident about answering questions should they be approached about the vaccine.

The toolkit has been devised so you can download material to use for your specific needs. It includes a word resource document with links to information in the public domain and MECC and community setting training material, there are also learner guides to support some of the training resource. All of the material can be downloaded and adapted as needed. The training materials are templates which will no longer be updated, but you can download them, adapt, and add to them to match your needs. Please note that the word resource document will continue to be updated.
