Children and young people show off their art, craft and photography skills in Covid-19 virtual exhibition

The first ‘Covid Creativity’ virtual art exhibition has given children and young people who work with social workers across Peterborough and Cambridgeshire the chance to show off their artistic talents.

The Peterborough City Council and Cambridgeshire County Council Participation Teams premiered the exhibition on 2 September 2020. 56 entries from 32 young people between the ages of 6 to 23 took were featured in the exhibition. You can watch it on YouTube.

A range of pieces were featured in the exhibition, from photography, drawings and even haikus.

The video has already received some fantastic comments. One person said: "This brightened up my day considerably, thank you to all involved."

Another person commented: "That was outstanding so many talented young people, well done everyone. Thank you for sharing your artwork."

Councillor Lynne Ayres, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, Education, Skills and the University, said: “The virtual exhibition has given all our children and young people who work with social workers the opportunity to get creative and celebrate their talents. Well done to everybody who took part and produced some fantastic work.”
