A 100th birthday party and Diwali celebrations keep the Mayor busy this week

A Werrington resident’s 100th birthday party and the Diwali celebrations in Cathedral Square are among the events in the Mayor’s diary this coming week.

Thursday 12 October - The Mayor and Deputy Mayoress will be attending the SuperDrama production ‘Relatively Speaking’ at the Key Theatre from 7pm to 10pm.

Friday 13 October - The Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress will be meeting with Braybrook School Council at the Mayor’s Parlour in Town Hall from 1.30pm to 3pm.

Friday 13 October - The Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress will be proposing a toast for Eric Pollard’s 100th birthday celebrations at Loxley Sheltered Housing in Werrington, PE4 5BW from 3.30pm to 5pm.

Friday 13 October - The Mayor will be attending a culture inclusive event at the Unity Hall in Northfield Road, PE1 3QH between 5.30pm and 6.30pm. The event is hosted by the Promoting African Refugee Community Association (PARCA) to celebrate the diverse cultures within Peterborough and bring communities together to enjoy food and traditional dance from different nations.

Saturday 14 October - The Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress will declare the Diwali celebrations in Cathedral Square open. The celebrations will include music and dance and will be held from 11am to 6pm.

Sunday 15 October - The Mayor will be attending reunion gathering including live entertainment and a traditional Eid dinner at the Bangladesh Welfare Association at the Caribbean Centre in Dickens Street, PE1 5GD from 1pm to 3pm.

Sunday 15 October - The Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress will attend the Peterborough Symphony Orchestra’s autumn concert at The Queen Katherine Academy in Walton from 2.45pm to 5pm.

Monday, 16 October - The Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress will attend the Hamba Kamba music and dance production at The Cresset in Bretton from 1.15pm to 2.15pm. The event is being held as part of Black History Month.

Wednesday, 18 October - The Mayor will be attending the Peterborough B2B Conference at the Kingsgate Conference Centre in Parnwell from 8.30am to 10am.
