A makeover and Eid celebrations keep Mayor busy

The Mayor will be attending the Portuguese Festival, having a makeover and celebrating Eid as part of dates in the mayoral diary next week.

Saturday 18 July: The Mayor and Mayoress will be attending the city's second Portuguese Festival.  They will be attending the event in the city centre between 11am and 12.30pm.

Saturday 18 July:  The Mayor and Mayoress will be attending the community open day at Dogsthorpe Fire Station. During the visit the Mayor will find out how firefighters tackle a chip pan fire and make a rescue from a car. The Mayor and Mayoress will be arriving at Dogsthorpe Fire Station, Dogsthorpe PE1 3RE at 12.45pm.

Tuesday 21 July: The Mayor and Mayoress will be getting a makeover at John Lewis for a feature in the company's in-house magazine. The makeover will take place between 10.30am and 12pm at John Lewis, Queensgate, Peterborough PE1 1NL.

Tuesday 21 July:  The Mayor and Mayoress will be attending the passing out ceremony for newly qualified teachers in Peterborough. The event will also be attended by council leader John Holdich and MP Stewart Jackson. The event takes place between 4pm and 6pm at the Town Hall, Bridge Street, Peterborough. Best time for photos is between 4pm and about 4.15pm.

Wednesday 22 July: The Mayor and Mayoress will attend the Prince's Trust final presentation. The presentation will include young people accepting certificates and giving speeches about their journey. The presentation will take place in the Reception Room, Town Hall, Bridge Street, Peterborough between 7pm and 8.30pm.

Thursday 23 July: The Mayor and Mayoress will present prizes at the Young Gifted and Talented Exhibition preview. The event is a preview of art work selected for the exhibition by young artists aged 14 to 22. The presentation will take place at City Gallery, Peterborough Museum, Priestgate, Peterborough between 6.30pm and 8pm.

Saturday 25 July: The Mayor will officially open B.R.o.W. for MAGPAS which is a Bike Run or Walk around Ferry Meadows.  MAGPAS is an emergency medical charity. The event will take place at Ferry Meadows Country Park, Nene Park Trust, Ham Lane, Peterborough between 8.30am and 9.30am.

Saturday 25 July: The Mayor will visit the Peterborough Bangladesh Welfare Association Eid celebration. The event will take place at Club Caliente, Parnwell Centre, Saltersgate, Parnwell PE1 4YL between 12.30pm and 3.30pm.
