A summer camp visit and V.J. Day service keep Mayor busy

A visit to meet children at a local summer camp and commemoration of V.J. Day are among the dates in the mayoral diary next week.

Monday 10 August: The Mayor will attend the British Empire Medal - Investiture Ceremony. The event will take place in the Mayor's Parlour, Town Hall, Bridge Street, Peterborough between 3pm and 4pm.

Wednesday 12 August: The Mayor will visit Churchill Summer Camp where the children will get the opportunity to show the Mayor some of the fun activities the summer camp offers which include various sports like archery and swimming also arts, quad biking and a bouncy castle. The visit will take place at Churchill Summer Camp, The Peterborough School, Thorpe Road, Peterborough between 2pm and 2.30pm. 

Friday 14 August: The Mayor will present certificates at the Summer Arts College Celebration Event. The presentation has been organised by Peterborough Youth Offending Service in partnership with Peterborough Regional College. The event will include showcasing young people's work, recognising and celebrating their success. The celebration will be held in the Reception Room, Town Hall, Bridge Street, Peterborough between 1pm and 2pm.

Saturday 15 August: The Mayor will attend St George's Summer Fete. The Fete will include a tombola, handmade cards and crafts stall, refreshments and home baked cakes, also games and quizzes. The open day will be held at St George's Hydrotherapy Pool,  367 Dogsthorpe Road, Peterborough between 11.45am and 12.45pm.

Sunday 16 August: The Mayor will say a few words at the V.J. Day Memorial Service. The service is in commemoration of the end of World War II and will take place at The Peace Garden, Central Park and All Saints Church Hall, Peterborough between 2.15pm and 3.45pm.
