Afternoon tea with the Mayor and charity shop opening keep Mayor busy

Afternoon tea and cakes with the Mayor and the opening of a new shop for Hope in Action are among the dates in the mayoral diary next week.

Monday 7 December: The Mayor and Mayoress will attend this year's VIP performance of the Key Theatre pantomime. Aladdin will take place at theatre in Embankment Road, Peterborough between 6.30pm and 9.30pm.

Tuesday 8 December: The Mayor and Mayoress will officially open Middleton Primary School's new school library. The school is in South Bretton, Peterborough and the opening takes place from 2.15pm to 3.30pm.

Tuesday 8 December: The Mayor and Mayoress will be guests at The Peterborough School carol service. The event is at Peterborough Cathedral from 6.45pm to 8.30pm.

Tuesday 8 December: The Deputy Mayor will officially open the Peterborough Art Society annual art exhibition. This is an art exhibition by local Peterborough and district artists displaying and selling around 150 pictures. The event will be held at St Johns Church, Cathedral Square, Peterborough between 7.15pm and 8.30pm.

Wednesday 9 December: The Mayor and Mayoress will attend the annual Holocaust Memorial Day. Every year Eva Clarke, a Holocaust survivor, is invited to Arthur Mellow Village College to share her experiences with year nine students and teach them about the dangers of racism and extremism. The event will take place at the college in Helpston Road, Glinton, Peterborough between 10.45am and 1.30pm.

Wednesday 9 December: The Mayor and Mayoress will attend a nativity performance by the children at Dogsthorpe Infant School, Central Avenue, Dogsthorpe, Peterborough between 2.15pm and 3pm.

Thursday 10 December: The Mayor, Mayoress and Deputy Mayoress will welcome visitors for afternoon tea and cake and a tombola to raise funds for the Mayor's charities, Age UK Peterborough, Hope Into Action, Scout and Guide Movement and Combined Cadet Force. The event will take place in the Reception Room, Town Hall, Bridge Street, Peterborough between 2pm and 4pm.

Friday 11 December: The Mayor and Mayoress will officially open the new office for Hope into Action, one of the Mayor's chosen charities for the year. The opening will provide the opportunity for church partners, tenants and other interested parties to view the office. The opening will take place at  24-26 North Street, Peterborough between 3pm and 6pm.

Saturday 12 December: The Mayor and Mayoress have been invited to Peterborough United's game against Shrewsbury Town. The match is at the ABAX Stadium, London Road, Peterborough, and kicks off at 3pm.

Sunday 13 December: The Mayor and Mayoress will attend KingsGate Christmas Service. The service will take place at KingsGate Community Church, 2 Staplee Way, Parnwell, Peterborough between 11.30am and 1.30pm.

Sunday 13 December: The Deputy Mayor will attend a celebration of Christmas in music and drama called Community Christmas Celebration. The event will take place at The Salvation Army, 1203 Bourges Boulevard, Peterborough between 2.45pm and 4.30pm.

Sunday 13 December: The Mayor and Mayoress will attend the Annual Carol Service of Northants and Hunts Masons 2015. This is the 18th annual service for the members of Freemasonry within the Province of Northamptonshire and Huntingdonshire, together with their families and friends. It takes place at Peterborough Cathedral, Minster Precincts, Peterborough between 5.15pm and 7.30pm.
