Birthdays, sporting accolades, celebrating our heritage all in the Mayor’s diary this week

It’s a packed week ahead for the Mayor with key city events and celebrations featuring in his diary. 

Friday 8 September - The Mayor, Mayoress, Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress will attend and say a few words at Peterborough Alzheimer’s Society’s third birthday celebration, 11.30am to 4pm, at the Dementia Resource Centre, 441 Lincoln Road, PE1 2PE.

Friday 8 September - The Mayor and Mayoress are guests at the Planet Ice Arena Skating Stars event, where they will present medals to the winning figure skaters. They will attend the event at 1 Mallard Road, PE3 8YN, 4.15pm to 6.15pm.

Friday 8 September - The Mayor, Mayoress, Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress will attend the official opening of the new steakhouse and grill, Middletons, 9 -15 Bridge Street PE1 1HJ, 7pm to 9.30pm.

Saturday 9 September - The Mayor, Mayoress, Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress will be meeting and greeting guests as part of the national Heritage Open Days initiative which will see tours of the Mayor’s Parlour and Council Chamber at 11am and 1pm. Saturday 9 September - The Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress will attend and open Central Park’s annual Family Fun Day, Park Crescent, PE1 4DZ, 2pm to 3.30pm.

Saturday 9 September - The Mayor and Mayoress will attend and say a few words at the Christians Against Poverty event, Queen Katharine Academy (formerly Voyager Academy), Mountsteven Avenue, PE4 6HX, 2.45pm to 5pm.

Saturday 9 September - The Mayor, Mayoress, Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress will attend the Italian Festival black tie dinner at the Italian Community Association, Fleet Centre, Fleet Way, PE2 8DL, 7pm to 11pm.

Sunday 10 September - The Mayor, Mayoress, Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress will attend the Italian Festival thank you dinner at the Italian Community Association, Fleet Centre, Fleet Way, PE2 8DL, 7.30pm to 10pm.

Monday 11 September - The Mayor, Mayoress, Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress will meet with Special Olympians who participated in the Special Olympics GB National Games in Sheffield last month (names to be confirmed). The meeting will take place in the Mayor’s Parlour at the Town Hall, 6pm to 7.30pm.

Wednesday 13 September - Members of Werrington Social Group will meet the Mayor, Mayoress, Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress in the Mayor’s Parlour at the Town Hall, 2pm to 3pm.

Friday 22 September - The Mayor is hosting a golf day to raise money for his three chosen charities: Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust, Peterborough Sea Cadets and Peterborough Shopmobility. Teams of four can enter for £50 per person which includes 18 holes and an evening buffet.
