Blitz bash and a war veteran's 97th birthday celebrations keep Mayor busy for the coming week

A Blitz Bash in the Town Hall's reception room and a WW2 veteran's 97th birthday celebrations  are among the dates in the Mayoral diary this coming week.

Thursday, 22 February - The Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress will launch Peterborough Pride 2018 at Metal, Chauffeurs Cottage, St Peters Road, PE1 1YX from 6pm to 7.30pm.

Friday, 23 February - The Mayor, Mayoress, Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress will host a visit in the Mayor's Parlour at the Town Hall from eight adults with learning difficulties who attend Goldhay Arts. This will take place from 11.30am to 1pm.

Friday, 23 February - The Mayor and Mayoress will be making a speech at the Safe Local Services launch at the Greyhound Stadium in First Drove, Peterborough PE1 5BJ from 5pm to 7pm. The Safe Local Services scheme follows the Safe Local Trades scheme which has been running successfully across PE postcodes for the last 10 years and provides members of the public with vetted, approved and reviewed tradespeople. The new scheme will follow a similar model, but will concentrate on services.

Saturday, 24 February - The Mayor and Mayoress will attend Sporting Saturday 2018 at the Cresset Centre in Bretton PE3 8DX from 11am to 2pm. The event is a showcase of sporting activities for people with disabilities. 

Saturday, 24 February - The Mayor, Mayoress, Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress will attend a Blitz Bash 1940s music evening in the Reception Room at the Town Hall from 7pm to 11pm. The event is being held in aid of the Mayor's charities.

Sunday, 25 February - The Mayor, Mayoress, Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress will attend the Mayor's Civic Service at Werrington Parish Church in Church Street, PE4 6QE from 2.30pm to 5.30pm. 

Monday, 26 February - The Mayor and Mayoress will attend the re-opening of Kwik Fit in Maskew Avenue PE1 2AS from 9.45am to 10.45am.

Tuesday, 27 February - The Mayor and Mayoress will attend the 97th birthday of WW2 veteran Eric Rollings which will be taking place at The Spinney Neath Court care scheme in Eye PE6 7GH from 2pm to 4pm. 

Tuesday, 27 February - The Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress will attend a citizenship ceremony at the Town Hall from 2pm to 3.30pm.
