Business to Business exhibition and Poppy Appeal launch keeps Mayor busy

The annual Opportunity Peterborough B2B exhibition at the Kingsgate Conference Centre and the launch of this year's Poppy Appeal are among the dates in the mayoral diary next week.

Tuesday 20 October: The Mayor and Mayoress will visit Jack Hunt School who are hosting a group of 15 teachers and representatives from the Pu Dong Education Bureau. Teachers will be observing and teaching lessons, as well as working on joint curriculum projects. The visit is being supported through the British Council Connecting Classrooms programme and will take place at the school in Ledbury Road, Peterborough. The Mayor and Mayoress will be attending between 12 noon and 1.30pm.

Wednesday 21 October: The Mayor and Mayoress will visit the annual Opportunity Peterborough B2B exhibition. The event will take place at Kingsgate Conference Centre, Parnwell, Peterborough and the Mayor will attend between 9am and 11am. 

Saturday 24 October: The Mayor will say a few words to launch this year's Poppy Appeal and be on hand to sell the first poppies. The launch will take place at the appeal caravan situated outside the Town Hall, Bridge Street, Peterborough between 9.30am and 10.30am.

Saturday 24 October: The Mayor and Mayoress will attend the East Community Complex 40th Anniversary. The Mayor will make a speech to celebrate the anniversary and a celebration dinner will take place at the complex in Padholme Road, Peterborough between 6.30pm and 10.30pm. 

Saturday 24 October: The Deputy Mayor will attend the celebrations for Heal India Night. This is a charity dinner which will include an auction, raffle and entertainment to raise money for under priviledged children in India. The evening will take place at The Cresset, Rightwell, Bretton, Peterborough between 7pm and midnight.

Sunday 25 October: The Mayor and Mayoress will attend the first TV and Movie Festival in Peterborough. The festival will include appearance from actors such as Peter Davidson, Paul Darrow,  Derek Martin and Peter Purvis. The event will take place at The Cresset, Rightwell, Bretton, Peterborough. The Mayor and Mayoress will be at the event between 11 and 12 noon.

Sunday 25 October: The Mayor and Mayoress will make a speech at this year's Eid Reunion Party to celebrate the festival of Eid hosted by Peterborough Bangladesh Welfare Association. The party will be held at the Millenium Centre, Dickens Street, Eastfield, Peterborough and the Mayor and Mayoress will attend between 12.30pm and 1.30pm.
