Cathedral opening and ANZAC service keep Mayor busy

The opening of the new west front porch at the cathedral and an ANZAC service are among the dates in the mayoral diary next week.

  • Thursday 23 April: The Mayor and Mayoress will meet HRH Duke of Gloucester who will be officially opening Ravensthorpe Primary School's new build. The opening will take place at Ravensthorpe Primary School, Brigstock Court, Peterborough.
  • Thursday 23 April: The Mayor and Mayoress will attend the opening by HRH Duke of Gloucester of the west front porch of Peterborough Cathedral. The opening will take place at The Deanery, Peterborough Cathedral, Minster Precincts, Peterborough. 
  • Saturday 25 April: The Mayor will present a certificate to the winner of the best picture at the opening of an annual art exhibition where five local amateur groups will display their art. The exhibition will take place at Paston and Gunthorpe Community Centre, Hallfields Lane, Gunthorpe, Peterborough. 
  • Saturday 25 April: The Mayor will lay a wreath at an ANZAC Day Service around the grave of Seargent Thomas Hunter who received the following medals, the 1914-1915 Star, The British War Medal 1914-1920 and the Allied Victory Medal 1914-1920. The event will be held by the President, Officers and Members of the Peterborough Branch of the Royal British Legion. The service will take place at Broadway Cemetery, Eastfield Road, Peterborough.
