Civic awards and school awards ceremony keep Mayor busy

Presentation of certificates at this year's Civic Awards and the Heltwate School achievement awards are among the dates in the mayoral diary next week.

Wednesday 24 February:
The Mayor will present awards to recipients of this year's Civic Awards. Launched in 2014, the Civic Awards recognises residents, groups, organisations and businesses that have made a real difference to their local community. The event will see each recipient formally recognised and presented with a commemorative certificate. The event will take place in the Reception Room, Town Hall, Bridge Street, Peterborough between 6pm and 8pm.

Thursday 25 February:
The Mayor and Mayoress will present certificates to students at the Heltwate School DofE Award Ceremony to acknowledge the pupils' achievements. Heltwate is one of the Peterborough schools dedicated to special needs provision. The presentation will take place at Heltwate School, North Bretton, Peterborough between 10am and 11am.

Thursday 25 February
: The Mayor and Mayoress will attend St Oswalds Ladies Group where the Mayor will talk about his mayoral role and meet members of the group. The visit will take place at St Felix Hall, Lincoln Road, Peterborough between 2.30pm and 3.30pm.

Friday 26 February: The Mayor and Mayoress will cut a ribbon and officially open the newly refurbished Marks and Spencer store in Queensgate Shopping Centre.  The store has undergone some refurbishments with new departments, food hall and cafe. The launch will take place between 10am and 11am.
