Council announces death of city councillor

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of councillor Marcus Sims.

Councillor Sims first became a councillor in May 2016 when he was elected to serve East ward.

Councillor John Holdich, Leader of Peterborough City Council, said: "It came as a real shock to hear of the death of Councillor Sims and the news has been met with great sadness across the council by officers and fellow councillors.

"On behalf of everyone at the council, I would like to offer my sincere and heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.

"Councillor Sims was a councillor for just a short period, but in that time he established himself as a passionate and hard working member who strove to do the best for the people of his ward and the wider city."
