Dragon boat festival in Mayor's diary

A volunteering fair and a dragon boat festival are dates in the Mayoral Diary for the coming week.

Sunday 3 June - The Mayor and Mayoress will attend the Festa Della Repubblica at The Fleet in Fleet Way, Fletton. This annual celebration is held to mark Italy's Republic Day which saw the country form a new government following the Second World War. The event takes place between 3pm and 7pm. 

Tuesday 5 June -
 The Mayor will present awards and certificates at the Family Action Volunteer recognition awards. The awards ceremony takes place at the Children and Family Centre in Hargate Way, Hampton Hargate between 10.15am and 12pm.

Wednesday 6 June - The Mayor and Mayoress will attend a Volunteer Match event at Peterborough Town Hall between 10.15am - 11am. The event is being held by the Community Voluntary Service as part of National Volunteer Week, giving would-be volunteers a chance to meet over 20 charities to discuss volunteering opportunities.

Thursday 7 June - The Mayor and Mayoress will welcome students from Fulbridge Academy in Peterborough to the Town Hall. The pupils are coming for a tour of the Mayor's Parlour and the council chambers between 11am and 12.30pm.

Friday 8 June - The Mayor and Mayoress will welcome pupils from Braybrook School in Peterborough to the Town Hall. The students are coming for a tour of the Mayor's Parlour and the council chambers between 11am and 12.30pm.

Saturday June 9 - The Mayor and Mayoress will hand out medals and trophies at the Peterborough Dragon Boat Festival. The annual event takes place at Peterborough Rowing Lake in Thorpe Meadows and will see teams taking part to raise money for Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice.
